mooncake festival (mid-autumn festival)
is just around the corner!
it's held on the 15th day of the 8th month every year
okayy...
i know, it's still the hungry ghost festival
but i'm already way too eager waiting the this day to arrive! =)
basically, here's my little mooncake festival history
The mid autumn festival commemorate an uprising in China against the M
ongol, rulers of Yuan Dynasty. As group gatherings were banned, it was impossible to make plans for a rebellion. Noting that the Mongols did not eat mooncakes, LiuBoWen of ZheJiang province came up with the idea of timing the rebellion to coincide with the Mid-Autumn Festival. He sought permission to distribute thousands of moon cakes to the Chinese residents in the city to bless the longevity of the Mongol emperor. Inside each cake, however, was inserted a piece of paper with the message: "Kill the Mongol on the 15th day of the 8th month" On the night of the Moon Festival, the rebels successfully attacked and overthrew the government. What followed was the establishment of the Ming Dynasty.Henceforth, the Mid-Autumn Festival was celebrated with moon cakes on a national level.
know what?
i'd always love mooncake festival since i was a kiddo!
partly because imma sweet tooth, get to eat lotsa sweet mooncake
then the very special metal boxes which i used to collect it every design available
which then my mum will eventually throw (heartache) it all after the festival =X
but, the paper lantern was always my major concern
i'll hang paper lanterns all over my house & gather all my friends for lantern walk
missing those time so much!!
By the way
back to REALITY now
basically,
this is a mooncake casing got from Six Happiness Mooncake
the casing was pretty cute & GREENISH
so, got an idea to put in all my hair ornaments
feeling creative today! =)
just then,
I'd always wanted to have my own earing stand like this::but mum would stop me whenever i intend to buy one by saying it is REALLY not necessary to buy one =X
and so,
used to keep it in a small shelf but then it troubles me so much
everything will be jumbled up together
and that was killing me
so, i come out with this::basically, it's just a box from the body shop
added a sponge and WALA!
so, here's how i organize those earings
without getting me head-wire anymore =)
got these from sunway mall, butterworthit's a cute lil chair
MAD LOVE!
and here's another pairi find it unique & decided to buy it
OKAY, thats all for today post
i feel it's irrelevant for my mid autumn post
nevermind lahhh
whatever
=D
XOXO!
